When "Pro-Life" just means "Anti-Sex"

Unfortunately, there are still plenty of Rand Pauls in the world who think that all fetal life outweighs that of the woman, even in cases of rape, incest or maternal death. If he gets his way, he will pass legislation preventing the Supreme Court from hearing cases like Roe vs. Wade (while I’m pretty sure that saying certain types of cases can’t be heard in court is unconstitutional and would be struck down, they’ve tried before to make stupid legislation and a great deal of it has passed).

In 2010, a member of the ethics committee  at a Catholic hospital gave a life-saving abortion to a woman in her twenties, a mother of four. The local bishops called for her immediate excommunication from the Church and it was granted, as well as forcing the hospital to renounce its Catholic affiliation. This was a woman who, by all accounts, wanted this fifth child, but would have died and left her four breathing children without a mother if it weren’t for the actions of that nun.

Women mean more than clumps of cells, especially in cases where it truly is a matter of life and death.

Thanks for your posts on punishing women vs. ‘saving babies’. Respect for adding another voice to the cause.
